Exercise facilities are popular because they give your furry friends the freedom to run around, excersize and interact with the other dogs. All dogs at NORSAH are excersized twice a day and soothing music is played in cattery and kennel.

Keep your Dog Vaccines Up-to-date

Keep your Dog Vaccines Up-to-date

Please make sure all of your dog's vaccinations are up to date, as we require them. The most important Vaccines are those which protects against Distemper, Rabies and Bordetella (Kennel Cough).Anywhere dogs gather their is the risk of Kennel Cough which is an upper respiratory infection.

Kennel cough is very contagious, so it is best to visit your local vet to ensure your dog is vaccinated against this and other dog diseases. All dogs and cats must produce proof of up to date, valid annual vaccinations inlcuding kennel cough at least 10 days prior to entering the kennels. Failure to provide this information will result in the refusal of admission.

Use a Flea and Tick Preventative

Use a Flea and Tick Preventative

It is best to start your dog on a regimen of tick and flea preventatives before you check them into NORSAH Kennels. You might not always see it but fleas and ticks are a problem year-round, especially when you have so many dogs so close to each other. Discuss with your local vet or ask JP advice on which spot-on treatments or oral medications will serve your dog the best. There are amazing medications these days which protects your furry kid against both fleas and ticks for up to 12 weeks with just one dose. NORSAH Kennels administers medications including injectables.

Pack holiday dog food and provide emergency contact info

Pack holiday dog food and provide emergency contact info

Sometimes, a change in diet that comes with placing your dog in a kennels can upset your dog and even cause colitis which is an inflammation of the colon and rectum, so why not pack some holiday food for your pup. It is something you don;t want to panic about but you do want to understand it, prepare daily portions in small doggie bags or containers and label them with the appropriate serving size. Also, it is important to give NORSAH Kennels contact information for your veterinarian, yourself and perhaps even family member or friend who will be in the area during your dog's stay in case an emergency should occur.
